My grandparents like to eat breakfast at a specific restaurant every morning. I don't. Breakfast food is my favorite food, but please don't confuse that with it being my favorite meal. I would rather sleep a few extra minutes than sit in the car for 30 minutes, eat something worth 15+ weight watcher points, feel gross from the amount of sludge consumed, and sit in the car for another 30 minutes. Instead, I'll just have some oatmeal with berries in my own kitchen
Oatmeal with Coconut Milk and Black Berries
1/2 cup uncooked oatmeal
1/2 cup blackberries (blue berries, raspberries...ect are also great in this)
1/4 cup coconut milk
1/2 cup boiling water
1. boil water
2. put oatmeal, berries and water in a bowl together
3. add a bit of coconut milk
4. stir together
5. enjoy!
I'm sure you can do this with Almond, soy or even regular milk...but I have extra almond milk, so I'm using it.

I decided I was going to make an afghan a few years ago. Really, it should not have been that big of a deal, but it was. I started and got stuck. My friend's mom made the blanket, so on their trip out to visit she helped me out a bit, then I got stuck. Well, it's 500+ miles (or 9 hours) to Toledo, so just asking he for help wasn't really a solution...but I finally figured it out!
It's called the Dusty Snowflake Throw, but read Heart. Since I don't really like the Red Heart Super Saver yarns, I decided to make it out of Sensations Brushed Classics from Jo-Ann Fabrics. Since I used thicker yarn, I used a larger hook.
It wasn't as hard as I thought it'd be. I was just looking too far into the directions. I guess I should package it up and ship it out to the new owners....before next Christmas.

I used to have goals.
I used to have ambition.
I used to drink.
The drinking may be part of the reason why I have not achieved some of those goals. If I could go back in time I would not cut the drinking/partying/chaos out of my life. It made me who I am. It has lead me on a little adventure, and now I have new goals.
Someday, I'll be a dietitian, just not for quite a long time.
Some of these goals are a little harder to accomplish from Farmland, USA, but I'll keep trying. Until those days come, I'll stay busy working on those projects that I don't really need.
My Grandma seems to think the print is "too busy", but I like it
I really like the piping on the collar! The pocket detail didn't turn out quite as I wanted them too, but it'll work.
Even though I have a fancy smancy sewing machine, the button holes never turn out okay. I think I need to get it tuned up, but I've been a little busy for that. Making nine button holes using a tight zigzag stitch is not easy, fun or painless. But a fabric marker and some patience....they worked!

It just keeps raining. Well, not right this minute, but it'll start again, I'm sure.
About a year or so ago there were some silly shower curtains on clearance at work, so I bought with the idea of turning them into a rain coat.
Working with cheap pvc curtains was not easy, but I think the coat turned out okay.
